The Gold Britannia has been issued by The Royal Mint since 1987 and is one of Britain's best-known bullion coins. This smaller version contains 1/10 troy ounce (3.11 grams) of pure gold and has a face value of £10. Modern Gold Britannia coins are struck in 99.99% pure gold.

Gold Britannia design
The reverse features Britannia, designed by Philip Nathan. She is depicted wearing a helmet and carrying a shield and trident, and has served as a personification of Britain for centuries. Recent issues incorporate several advanced security features, including a latent image and detailed surface animation.
The obverse features the reigning British monarch. Older coins depict Queen Elizabeth II, while coins featuring King Charles III have also been issued since 2023.
